I had just gotten word that Colorware is modifying the Monster Beats By Dr. Dre. headphones for the public. The first time I've encountered these colorwared BBDD's was at CES in Monster's Empire Suite at The Paris in Las Vegas. But I'm really glad that colorware is now providing their services to the public. If you want to colorware your own pair of BBDD's check out coloreware's website. I will update more on this soon.

BOEX WANTS TO ERASE YOUR BUM

Sticking to today's theme of art based on things you use to draw with. I stumbled upon this piece of furniture designed with a traditional style pencil. BOEX, an interior design company, are the people responsible for this quirky bench. They spawned this idea after having a conversation about whether or not if they could incorporate an everyday office object into a piece of furniture and as you guys can see they succeeded. This design is such as success it's already won two awards.The seat of the bench is actually made up of 1600 pencils and the best part about it is that the PENCILS CAN ACTUALLY BE REMOVED AND USED. One thing I would like to do with it is much like the crayon paitning from the last post which is to turn the pencils upside down so that the lead is sticking out rub it through a piece of paper then turn the pencils around again so that the eraser shows up and erase the scribbles I made on the paper using all 1600 pecils, or rather the whole bench, of course.

CRAYON ART BY CHRISTIAN FAUR

I honestly thought someone was bound to do something like this but I guess who better to do it than Christian Faur. He has a very unique way of expressing himself as he states in his website "In my work, I try to mimic these elegant structures of nature by developing systems of my own with which to express my thoughts and ideas, so that the medium and the message appear as one." Pretty interesting fellow but nonetheless his latest pieces using crayons are very inspiring indeed. Almost reminds me of that one toy from the 90's with the little pegs that light up as you connect it to the board, I can't seem to remember the name, but yeah this is definitely stepping things up a notch from that.Here's a better look of the piece from a better angle. To be honest you guys If i had my hands on these crayon pieces I would definitely turn this thing upside down and rub it across a huge piece of paper just to see what would come out of it.

DEZINERFOLIO IS HOOKING YOU UP

To all of you aspiring photographers, models, and designers out there DezinerFolio recently released their second build of their free flash gallery...dfGallery 2.0! This new version allows you to customize the themes, music, and even manage multiple galleries. The neat thing about it is the fact that you can integrate this gallery with your flickr account and also embed the gallery anywhere you want to put.(Blogger, Facebook, Myspace) It's also pretty sleek looking too!

CONSTRUCT A FONT WITH FONTSTRUCT

As many of us may know that fonts are an important part of designing a product. However, sometimes we run into the problem of not finding a specific font that matches the style or theme that we're going for well...... WORRY NO MORE! FONTSTRUCT is here to the rescue!!

I was really debating over buying fonts over at Thinkdust, but the prices just seemed a little too steep for me. So I tried to find an alternative to this dilemma of mine and ran into FONTSTRUCT.

FONTSTRUCT is basically an online tool/community that somebody can use to create geometrically shaped fonts quickly and easily using their font editor "Fontstructor." You could also check out all the fonts that other people created and even download them.........FOR FREE!! So for all of you font-philes out there this is definitely a site to check out.

IF YOU WANNA MOVE LIKE MIMS

Remember that one Mims music video entitled "Move."(If You Wanna) Well I sure don't haha... But I did stumble upon the music video a while ago and I found the last 3rd of the video very fascinating. The break dancers and the artist are manipulated in a way that I've never seen before on video. So I decided to do some investigation and here's what I found out about this really cool effect.

Kind of creepy but yeah at least this dude gives us a mini tutorial on how to reproduce the effect on Final Cut Pro. So to all of you Final Cut Pro users out there.. have fun with this.

CHERIE X APOLLO STYLE

So I had some free time on my hands last week and decided to support my friend Cherie by designing her blogger's layout for her. Luckily I wasn't suffering from this thing that's been going around called designer's block so I managed to get it done pretty quick. This design was inspired by a lot of things, but two things that really did inspire me were the Beats By Dr. Dre Tour earphone box that's sitting on my table and also that MAC X Hello Kitty box that Cherie posted on her blog. CV Creations Business Card: Part 1

So I've been brainstorming all day in my head on how to redesign the CV Creations business card and this is all I can come up with so far... The backside of the card haha... pretty sad. But yeah I've been having the worst case of designer's block lately. Usually these ideas just flow out of my hands and finish themselves before I know it, but that's not the case today. Let's hope I can come up with something by tomorrow.
